Looking at a Comando thats For Sale. Has the Redand Grey striped decal. Seller did not have a lot more to offer for information. Has a deck and looks fairly clean, was told it runs well. Is there a way to find further on year and he is asking $400. I thought that was a little high. Any comments or suggestions before I check this out. I would like to eventually find a plow for it and disc. Will this be a good model for that?

Sorry, I am guessing it is a late 70's since it has running boards.

I attached a photo, can anyone tell me if this is in fact a Commando 8, year, and if it is a horizontal shaft engine? Seller doe not know and it is a bit of a drive to find out its not worth buying. Thanks.

Too much money for that machine. Would have a real tough time plowing and running a disc with that machine. Plus the tranny in that model wouldn't hold up to abuse. I wouldn't even bother walking out to the truck and making the drive.

That is a vertical engine Commando V8. 1969 or 1970. Get the ID number from the tag. Should read 1-4841, 1-4851 or 1-4852. I would pay no where near what he is asking.

Yeah the Commando V8 is a bit of a wimpy tractor. You'd be better off with a regular Commando 8 horizontal crank engine with a 3-speed unidrive. It will do A LOT of work. If you can find one.
