Break it down into bucket math... how many buckets went empty, how many came back full, how many fell off the trailer, how many got sold on the way home and finally, how many were put in the garage for the next show?

:confusion-confused:

Then tell us about the tractor(s)...

That's a 312-8 with 14 HP replacement engine and tall chute blower. The front chain guard is missing from the blower and the wings are on backwards too. Other than a messed up seat it don't look too bad! Guessing it's an 89

Looks like a receiver from a 10,000 lb. equalizer hitch welded to the draw bar.  There is also an unusable slot hitch behind it.

Notice the factory wheel weights with the centers filled with concrete.   This is a worker with some farmer modifications,

I noticed it on an online auction site.  The blower and two decks looked good on the pictures so I placed a low bid assuming the tractor was a parts machine.

I went to pick it up assuming I would have to winch it on the trailer, but bumped the key and it started up first turn and runs and sounds like a strong KT17.

This one will probably go to son Mark.   My other son Mike has a 417H with a Trac Vac

Nice find!

Could be the angle, but the stance makes me wonder if those are 6” wheel spindles with 8” wheels?

This is a good thing providing more lift for the blower.  This will be a dedicated snow machine.

Just keeps getting better...It's a Series II.

Modified wheel weights.

I removed some of the stump bumps from the 42" RD.

The 36"SD looks OK.   Still has some red paint left.

Any one see why the RD didn't cut.  May be the reason the 417 was put on the auction block.

Upside-down blades don't make a very good cut.

As stupid as those mirrors look, I was having a pretty hard time turning around to see well enough when backing a boat and trailer into a very particular spot, so those mirrors would've helped.

I moved the ball from the front to the back a few weeks ago for something else so I guess I just need to buy a new tractor for the "attachment" of a front tow ball. LOL

:scared-eek:

I do concur. Balls up front make for a far more pleasurable trailering experience... :handgestures-thumbupright:

And mirrors on a :wh: break the number one rule of Italian motor car racing - Whatsa behind you Issa no Matta...

@Ed Kennell I believe all 417’s came with a Series 2 and baby moons. I think some 300 series came with baby moons too? Only a true Wheel Horse connoisseur like @Handy Don would pick up on 8” wheels and 6” spindles. Some may in fact think “What is this guy talking about?” My 417-A runs a 44” two stage blower like a champ!

1984 and older C-175 used the series 1. A spec number of 24300 and higher will be a series 2
