adsm08 5,104 #2 Posted Saturday at 11:58 PM You don't lubricate belts, or the contacting surfaces of their pullies. Belts need friction to move or be moved by a pulley. Lubrication removes friction. The result would be ruining your belts. 1 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Insufficient belt tension can lead to slipage & surface glazing... I had this issue on my deck pullies last year. Even with sharp blades and new belts it was slipping in thick grass. peter lena 10,043 #9 Posted 4 hours ago @ 853nut , my experience with belt fraying is , related , bearing lubrication failure , GLAIRING TO ME , usually has a rough , movement stage to it , lucas extra hd green chassis grease , into a wiped out , flushed bearing , hand repack , all my bearings have this , except outer pto cone bearing , napa , the pto lever smooth easy engagement says it all . never burned out a clutch disc , grease has a 550 deg drop point , AND POLYUREA RATING ? so it stays with bearing . try something , pete Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
