peter lena 9,993 #28 Posted August 17 @Handy Don referring to that key switch / wiring set up , thats an absolute no brainer , doing an OPOSET SIDE WIRING LAY OUT . and belt drive cover AIR VENTING , would remove wiring away from trapped heat , this repetitive issue , is begging for an elimination , been using anti corrosive's on wiring connections for years , typically when I get into a repair / elimination area , I am there to ERADICATE THE PROBLEM , not replace it in kind . simple example , mule drive and mower deck bearings , MAKE AN INVISABLE CHANGE ? MAIN ISSUE , LUBRICATION FAILURE , very obvious , whining bearing noise , every related bearing on my 3 units, have been cleaned out and LUCAS X TRA HD , GREEN CHASS GREASE , HAND REPACKED , never had a related failure, also do the pto cone inner needle bearing , very lightly , grease specs 550 deg flash point , polyurea rated , anti sling , amazed with no ideas for repetitive problems , pete Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I have been using this store brand rust paint from Home Hardware here in Canada. I just thin it using varsol until it is approximately the consistency of milk. I think around 10:1 give or take. Cleat: It is always better paint in the early fall. I have always had good luck with this. I know you are up north weather changes fast up there. Good luck with the project. cleat 9,099 #32 Posted 2 hours ago Another rainy day do I started dismantling the engine for cleanup. I do not believe it needs a full tear down as it ran quiet and smooth. I took some picture of the tin work so I can put it back together properly. Choke and throttle linkage as found. Flywheel ready to be pulled Flywheel puller installed after chasing the threads for the puller bolts. Flywheel pulled and very dirty inside. Very understandable I got heat but no A/C but don’t think I wouldn’t have it if I could get warden on board. Well got both in part of it but not main shop. I had a propane furnace but I am getting tired of paying for the tank rental and just buying propane in general. I am hoping the heat pump can keep up in the winter but if not I have a 5000 watt heater for backup. The house is getting a new heat pump with an electric air handler for air circulation and backup as well. The house central AC unit has been on the way out for a few years now and this summer the furnace blower went out and it is $1200 gust for the part so I am just getting rid of the whole setup. I hope that I am not making a big mistake putting these in. I will let you know next year how they work..
