Thegearhead0324 1,769 #1 Posted June 30 I have a quick question, looking through the forum I think I found the answer, but on my 1257, the brake drum shaft seal, would part number SKF 7410 be the correct seal? I see rock auto has one and wanted to make sure. Thank you.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 12,400 #2 Posted June 30 Best to compare the specs against what you want to replace. Notice the CR/SKF seal numbers closely represent the shaft size. 3/4" shaft or .750" is close to the 7410 seal number.
702854boy 1,053 #3 Posted June 30 SKF seal #9815 is the seal that you need for the brake drum, it is the same as the axle seals on 1 inch axles.

ri702bill 12,634 #5 Posted June 30 Best to stay away from the off-brand not-made-around-here cheap knockoffs. Unless you want to do the job over... Note the CR ad gives a Speedi-Sleeve P/N too. Great to fix a gouged up shaft.
Thegearhead0324 1,769 #6 Posted June 30 Thank you for the replies, would anyone know of a good brand or of one that would be good to use?
rmaynard 17,482 #7 Posted June 30 I get mine from NAPA auto parts. They are made from steel as opposed to Toro which are plastic.
Thegearhead0324 1,769 #8 Posted June 30 @rmaynard Would you happen to have a part number for their seal?
rmaynard 17,482 #9 Posted June 30 I haven't purchased one in some time, but I will try to find the number. I'm sure @squonk knows the number.
