C 161. Hi low transmission

Did  the c161 transmission have a dip stick under the seat to check fluid in hhe 8 speed transmission???  I know hydros had one but i dont recall seeing one on an 8 speed!

I went looking for a photo of the seat pan on my C-161 8 Speed, I didn’t find one but I did find this picture of the whole tractor at @stevebo’s meet and greet 9 years ago! And yes all C-1_1’s had a dipstick in the seat pan. Nice thing about this tractor is that when you flip the seat up you will see Cecil Ponds signature he signed it at the last Big Show he attended.

Yes i guess they did!

 

Well i checked on the manual and now i do recall they had a fill tube at top of the  8 speed C-161 transmission.

So when did toro stop placing the rear dipstick in the 8 speed transmission in the toro models?   My 314-8 does  not have it.  I think it is a 1993  model tractor.

They started using the short ones.  Look under the gas tank.

Or somebody broke it off and used a short replacement...

 

Edit: Now that I re-read that it sounds like a personal problem  but I have seen some crazy tractor parts swaps down here in the hillbilly side of the country.
