Ok just asking if this can be done. I know where a K301 12 hp. But it is gear start. Can this be converted to a start /gen set up? Any thoughts are welcome.

Yes. If you want the complete Start /Gen look you will have to either remove the ring gear from the flywheel or get the correct flywheel to use the non hump shroud. Same thing with the small blocks. This 875 has an engine from a B 80

If you have  old engine just use the parts off it to convert over. You may need the oil pan from it also.

Anything your pockets are deep enough to finance CAN be done, and we are here to help you spend your money!

If you have or can find a K301 that has all The S/G parts and pieces already in place that would be your best bet. If you go the full S/G route you may need to do a bit of rewiring but we can help you get it done.

You will need a big block style S/G .... for a couple of reasons. Brackets for the correct fitment and you need the longer body S/G.

The shorter one from a K161 7HP may not have enough "cookies" (oomph??) to get the job done.

A couple more to consider.... that is a lot of motor to spin over  - it may struggle. Also, the S/G setup is only 3 Amps.....

This one will have a gear starter. So that is why I asked if it is possible to do this.

:confusion-confused:             are you saying you want to run the gear starter but have the S / G there for appearances only?

The starter and genny brackets bolt to the same 2 holes. I don't think there will be room for both, Never mind the electrical nightmare.

The 8 HP genny and big block gennies are the same size. Only that 161 gennie is short.

You can use some spacers to get between a long and short generator body
