TractorEd 669 #1 Posted yesterday at 06:03 PM (edited) Looking for an online 1979 owners manual for a 48” deck with model number 95-48MS00. I would be okay with one from a year before or a year after that details steps to install and adjust deck for a ‘79 c-161 with hydraulic lift. Any manual/file finding gurus that can help? TractorEd 669 #5 Posted 16 hours ago On a ‘79-ish C series with hydraulic lift, do we really adjust the lift lever chain/bar trunnion so that the rubber bumpers on the mower deck draft arms touch the bottom of the foot rests? The geometry doesn’t seem like it would work since I’d have to raise the chain up a couple/several links to get the bumpers to touch the foot rests. And that would cause other issues with removing/installing the deck as well as not being able to lower the deck enough to cut shorter. There isn’t much lift with the hydraulic version. My other C series has the manual lift and it has much more lift and making the bumper touch the foot rest is no problem and it will still be able to be lowered all the way to the ground. Handy Don 16,203 #6 Posted 5 hours ago Two goals of the bumper touch: 1) a non-metal-to-metal upper limit to travel, and 2) a stabilizing position for the raised deck when driving around. 10 hours ago, TractorEd said: There isn’t much lift with the hydraulic version The different holes in the rock shaft arms give different amounts yield different lift distances. Those closest to the shaft have the least movement but need the least effort to lift and vice-versa for those farthest out. Maybe the two tractors’ are not set up the same for mower lifting?

Maybe the hydro should use different ones? The owner’s manual(s) do not differentiate between manual vs hydro on setup. gwest_ca-(File Mod) 12,106 #8 Posted 4 hours ago This is a later illustration that identifies the lift locations for hydraulic lift. Still suspect they are the same for manual lift. https://www.partstree.com/models/21-14ke01-314-a-toro-garden-tractor-1985/hydraulic-lift-linkage-400-series-10/

Thank you for that. I’ll try to find some time to mess around with things to see if I can “remedy” the issue.
