sqrlgtr 2,181 #1 Posted 2 hours ago When installing didoes back in a 551 I assume i need them oriented were the juice flow toward battery correct. I smoked one or both this morning but I may have them installed wrong. Also had juice when unhooking Pos battery cable with key off or on. @squonk @Achto @WHX?? @953 nut Posted this in resto forum also but thought may get more attention here.

Remove the diodes, hook your battery up. Use a multi meter to determine which terminals are hot or which ones have continuity to the positive battery terminal. The stripe on the diode should be towards the positive terminal on the battery. This allows the positive AC wave go to the battery but prevents the negative AC wave from going to the battery. Simple rectifier. Changing AC voltage to DC voltage.

Thx that was what I was looking for I know I had seen this in Tecky manual before but could not find it anywhere for some reason. In my on defense I had a tooth pulled Friday and hadn't been myself for a day or two

Getting screws put in your jaw for implants to put them back in is not much better, but totally worth it. Edited 29 minutes ago by Achto
