Some folks can create models that are so realistic that they are difficult to distinguish from the real thing.

There's obviously a lot of them around but search:  Tim Ahlborn

He's a pro level builder for decades now. Travels the country and sets up displays for commercial places like Peterbilt !!

Nowadays my eyesight just doesn't work well enough for that level of detail.

That's what glasses and magnifiers are for young man.

I have to use reading glasses for anything close. I definitely am overdue for an eye 👁 doc visit but haven't had a serious need for normal life reasons.

For this hobby..... I may find the time.

Last time I did some electronics repair, I had to use both my glasses and an illuminated magnifier. STILL struggled to see it!

But the stuff was tiny in my defense. And I did get it done!

I do not sleep well on any given day. Once I'm asleep, I'm in a coma. But falling asleep no matter how tired I am is difficult. My mind races over the tiniest, silliest stuff and I can't drift off. Many of my best ideas happen in the middle of the night. Some may notice that I post stuff at 3:00AM or so...

Last time I built a model, I stayed up all night to finish it. Not uncommon for me but since I can build them in the comfort of the indoors, well you get the picture... :P

@Wheel Horse 3D and I are looking at figuring out how to use his talents and tools to make a stretched frame in 1/25 scale.

This is an internet find picture:

This is my project truck:

The frame(s) are approximately 11 inches long. I'd like to add 10 inches about where the pointer is. Cut paste. ✂️

Total frame length around 21", 22".

This weekend I spent a few hours cutting clipping sanding fitting etc.. to get this trailer suspension mostly done.

I'm at the point of needing to paint everything that's glued together a flat black. Then add more parts.

I also got the 3 sections of the tank cemented individually.

These are not attached to each other yet.

It'll take some creative use of scrap sheet styrene between the right and middle sections. They aren't meant to be attached.

These are some reference photos of older Heil 6000 gallon tankers.

@c-series don might recognize the first one.

Holy cow @ebinmaine ! Yes that is our tanker trailer. It was originally pulled buy a 1969 cabover Ford with a 534 cu.in. gas motor coupled to a 10-speed Road Ranger. That’s how I learned to drive a tractor trailer, with that combo. I was on the truck purchasing committee when we replaced the Ford with a brand new 1996 Peterbuilt 379 with a 425hp Caterpillar and a 9-Speed Fuller Roadranger. Still using that truck and trailer, 6200 gallon capacity. I’ve taken it to many fires and parades across the county.

@ebinmaine - a tube of Squadron Green Stuff filler putty will be your friend on that tanker project.
