That seat was so badly rusted, rotted ruined it got tossed shortly after unloading.  I guess this one might suffice. New posting area I wasn't aware of. And I have a LOT of ugly stuff!

No rivet holes on engine shroud or below main controls dash. No raised portion showining evidence of paint over. Someone went to a lot of trouble to hide this horse.

Also I noted on Tractor Data Manuals the picctures I couls ID it seemed cluth on 1056 and 1055 was optional as only showed a double or triple sheave pto shaft pulley. This PTO disck is oversized or bell is undersized also. I noted that on day 1 but didn't concentrate on that yet. Obviously on nothing else either.

For 1057 and 1257 from the illustrated parts list must be no hole in the hood.

Yes late 67 early 68. The 4785 was discontinued and replaced by the ones found on many tractors since.

Thanks, Garry. The only hood that ever had lights that I had owned was a 1067.

I have that same steering wheel!  It was incorrectly on my GT-14 when I acquired it.  I thought it was maybe off of an old car.  Plastic was decent.  Metal was

 

f.u.b.a.r.  I ground the plastic, welded the spokes straight, JB weld and some paint and it hangs in my garage.  Welcome to anyone that may have a use for

 

the cost of shipping.  I do not have a use for it.  Cool project @groundhog47.  Not an expert.. I would think starter/generator should narrow it but..  IDK

Y'all are missing the biggest clue as to this Wheel Horse's model number and year of manufacture.     The "Rust-Oleum muffler was only used on one mode, but I can't remember which one it was.

It is NOT a 1055 or anything else ending in a 5.  It is not a 1056 or anything else ending in a 6. Both of those years used the short oil pan so it is obviously not an 1965 or 1966 model. The 1967 models had the hood hinge and tower raised enough to allow the use of the K-241s or K-301S which is what this  has as pictured,

Hard to believe the holes are not there for the id plates Ground Hog ...

What yer plans for it? Even with the chunks missing that steering wheel is definitely restorable. 

 

At this time I've not many plans. Just trying to move a couple trailer loads of parts, tractors, implements, and and rest of shop to Texas from Louisiana where it all rests. I see what it is with steering wheel, spokes appear broken from outside and weld melted grip. Same as on Frankenstein L156.

I agree on engine shroud holes and dash holes. No one normally would go to trouble to hide holes and do a 1st grade paint job unless hiding something. If they were registered liscensed by state DMV I might could see if covering an illegal sales, but that's mre than likely not the case. And like I did or should have mentioned I'll do best to find tag or ID on trans as 65 appaers to have 2 4 spd and 1 same as 66.

 No thank you for help. The hood also had the little chrome plated woodpecker notched thingy on but I misplaced it , badly corroded as it was.

You all have the greatest eyes for detail I've ever seen. Can is just to keep water out of exhaust port. It had when unloaded a rust   deteriorated round biscuit looking muffler. Had a paint can from opening to get marble as have lost all of mine.
