You can probably do a series on YouTube on fixing up the "Pig in a Poke Motorized Palace" I have no doubt that you can overcome the mechanical and cosmetic issues and keep us all entertained in the process. By the way; has Colleen met the new bus? Hope she doesn't get too jealous.
8ntruck 8,067 #52 Posted September 26 @Pullstart - 7.9 mpg in the mountains - that's not much worse than the 5.7 Hemi in the Ram 1500 gets towing our much smaller trailer. 'Course gas is cheaper than diesel. @rmaynard - is that Wigwam hotel on US 31 in Kentucky?

By volume, standard or low sulfur diesel (i.e. not bio) has 12-15% higher energy density than E10 gas, 10-13% higher than pure gas. This doesn’t correlate directly to per-mile costs, though, because of many other factors.

Two factors are the much higher compression and reduced pumping loss from no throttle plate adding to the efficiency. But many folks only look at the per gallon price, and I quit trying to argue the point years ago.

When looked at from a purely financial perspective fuel should be the highest day-to-day cost of vehicle ownership anyway. If it's not you either have terrible terms on the loan, or you are paying way too much for insurance.

Gassers slow down by purely choking the air flow. I’ll never again buy a vehicle and owe money on it purely based on potential fuel savings. Pullstart 67,544 #66 Posted Monday at 11:09 AM Last night, sitting on our concrete patio for a while, we experienced two things. A spike buck ran up from behind us, snort wheezed a few times, and ran off. It was about 20’ from us! Also, the gas portion of the water heater fired up on the RV and we could not figure out how to shut it off, without killing the house batteries.

squonk 44,283 #68 Posted Monday at 09:35 PM I bet that thing was in a flood of some sort. The person you bought it from may have bought it at an insurance auction and didn't want to deal with it or just wanted to flip it
