Just now, Handy Don said: Frankly, you are lucky it didn’t start a fire! Definitely!! That's why I've decided to hold off. The battery is 3 years old but possibly okay. No sense ruining that and several other parts.
MainelyWheelhorse 1,786 #27 Posted August 31 @ebinmaine I’ve got a fuse holder from the 312 parts I got from you you could use if you want to move it under its own power. It needs to be cleaned out but looks good.

Not a future runner. No point in investing the time.

I would check for water in the oil on both before running it, looks like it has been outdoors quite a while.

The PO was open about high hours and overall conditions to me before the purchase.
OutdoorEnvy 1,781 #32 Posted August 31 You always learn a lot from these kind of rigs. Part of why we do this I guess. So wasn’t sure if you covered it somewhere but are you planning an engine swap to use it? Or moving Eaton trans to something? Figured you have some project in mind coming together

Or moving Eaton trans to something? Figured you have some project in mind coming together I sure do. I really like the added stability of the splayed forward front axles. I knew before purchase this would be divided up. Me. All steering system parts, whole front axle, all 4 wheels, rear wheel weights, frame? All guages, fuel tank w/sender, Someone else is taking. Snowblower, both transmissions. And another person. All hydraulics. Engine isn't spoken for yet. Nothin I'm interested in...

Retired Wrencher 5,949 #37 Posted September 1 Morning Eric. Can you simplify that wiring get rid of the safety switches and all that other crap? I had a C141 that’s what I did. I simplified the wiring and it ran fine. A guy in Vermont now owns it for years now, I talk with him every now and then. He says it’s still running no problems.

That's exactly what I'll do. Get it running (if possible). Drive it around a little. Disassemble and part out.

ebinmaine 73,568 #43 Posted September 1 I snipped the Red Battery connection at the solenoid. Removed the ignition switch and got it cleaned up. Looks original. Now to find/make/run temp wires.
