Pullstart 65,599 #1 Posted June 1 I did some Horse trading today, and ended up with this 1054. It could use a few things, but runs good! Way in the back is also a Moto Mower. It’s special… and in dire need of help! 7

Pullstart 65,599 #7 Posted June 1 Slight correction? The serial number has been painted over mostly, but it’s got a (quite sloppy) steering box, not a fan gear. Early 953, correct? @953 nut A couple years back, I traded two mower decks to @Redav72 for this HY-3 kit. Gee, almost 3 years have passed now, and it has not made it onto a tractor yet. A somewhat local friend I met at a plow day last year Adam Plow day thread here (the guy in the People Eating Tasty Animals shirt) offered me this tractor if I had an HY kit he could toss on a 753 project. And, here we are!
ineedanother 1,651 #8 Posted June 1 1054 was the first I knew. It was my neighbor's when we moved to a small town in PA in 1969. It was a few years yet before my family starting buying them but we eventually did My brother tells me that that particular tractor went up in flames some time after I moved to NC in the '80s.

Early 953, correct? @953 nut Sounds like you made a good trade Kevin. If it has a ROSS steering gear then it is a 953. Based on the steering wheel and headlights it would be a second generation. The seat frame is 1054 but that is just held in place by four 1/4-20s so I guess it got swapped out at some point.
AlexR 1,686 #10 Posted June 1 I think I am going to have to stay with collecting the 70's tractors, those seem to be the only ones available for anybody within 100 miles of @Pullstart because he's getting all the other tractors haha

Sparky-(Admin) 22,740 #12 Posted June 2 I’ve had a couple 1054’s…big looking tractor but I felt like the seat, steering wheel and brake pedals were set up for a short guy (which I am not). Wouldnt stop me from buying another of course. The one with black/silver wheels was my first.

Heres pic of my steering wheel on 953 w/ross steering box. I guess the center cap on wheel is hard to find & if you can get one they are expensive?? S/N 62-613. Nice find Kevin! 1

Trina is 5 ft 6 and fits one of these quite well. I sat on it and felt kind of stuffed in.

I know you’re a couple inches taller than me Skunky. What’s your head top out at? We are trying to find Rylee’s boy Brenen something suitable for long term use. We are keeping our options open, but I’d like it if he were to like this tractor. Something that needs some work, that he can learn from the beginning. The thing is, he doesn’t really fit into our family as far as height goes. 3

We blocked it up and moved the seat pad back last night before dinner and it was better but not great. I’m thinking maybe a hinged riser and a “normal” tractor seat, to access the fuel tank and tool box, but allow further distance from controls. 14 minutes ago, squonk said: I'm ugly and look terrible in Cowboy Boots with no socks and shorts! ‘Tis not an interview to become @Pullstart Jr… 2
