WHX?? 51,782 #26 Posted January 6 (edited) Lunch time up date: Dollar bill the points # 3 and she fires right up. Actually runs pretty good. HY fluid and mouse turds flying all over don't taste well tho ... Took the dozer blade off and in the warehouse she went for another day ... got smaller fish to fry. #1 & 2 out in the pasture under tarps .. sorry Dan no more room at the inn... tractor heavy ya know .... Say the word and we can get 1 & 2 back in the shop and mafia down to parts and sort. Maybe projects for next winter. Now for football... 3 hours ago, Pullstart said: so little in the big world of commercialization. That's why we like it.. I remember watching the Pack a couple months ago at tractor show camp getting pasted by the birds.. We'll be having Philly cheese steak sammies... bout the only damned good thing Philadelphia gave to the world... so we don't feel so bad when they lose again ... squonk 43,843 #27 Posted January 6 Not to Hijack a fine tractor thread but: Kids! Kids Kids!!! You become a fan for various reasons. Me it was the usual way. How does a kid in a little Podunk town in NY become a Packer fan? For the same reason most kids adopt a favorite team in the 60's. By the uniforms of course!! We had only three channels back in the Stone Age of Television. NBC carried the AFL. Curt Gowdy, Al Derogatis, Charley Jones and the like. CBS carried the NFL Ray Scott, Paul Christman, Pat Summerall and Jack Whitaker. My Uncle went to the University of Buffalo and he and my Grandfather went to Bills games at The Rockpile. Bills were AFL Champs in 65. They were always on NBC. Sometimes the Jets. The Giants were on CBS all the time. My Grandfather got Sports Illustrated and most of the pictures back then were in Black and White. But then the 65 NFL Champ game between the Browns and Packers was photographed in color. It was a Mud Bowl but the colors got my attention and I started reading about this team from tiny GB. The rest is History

On 1/3/2025 at 7:24 PM, WHX?? said: Is it my eyes or the pic but does that block look blue?? I best bring it back in Dan and recheck the tranny fluid. I guess I did drain it. I guess I did know that is a service motor too. @Achto came over today and we tied into these rascals. It was agreed # 2 would be the best bet for getting it running and driving and the one for Dan to work his resto magic on. Long story short and much to my amazement we accomplished the running and driving part. First thing to go was the Ed Dog mad max tiller pulley. It put up a bit of a fight until the heat wrench was busted out. . Prolly 'cause of the bolt used for a key. Cleaned the offshore carb & pulled the head. Chamber and bore looked good. No signs of oil burning. Adjusted the gov & patched the wiring together ... just temporary ya know. Replaced the steering wheel & shaft with donor from #1. Got fire in the hole and all was good. Still amazed me we got her going. Even took a couple hours off in the afternoon to attend a fund raiser to a tractor bro that had some bad luck. I'm afraid the outlook for #1 is not so good ... more on that and the mystery deck tomorrow. Edited June 1 by WHX?? 1

Always fun hangin' out at Jim's. Had an exciting day in triage with a hand full patients. We checked over his last haul of 2 & decided that they were not good candidates to make run that day. Both very savable but not without some time in the O.R. Turned our attention to the 702 triplets. One already runs and drives, it ain't quite right but we'll deal with that later. Looked over the other 2 and picked the one most likely to survive. After some light medical attention and we had another 702 that was a driver. Will put some rehab time on this 702 over the summer then it will most likely under go some plastic surgery this the winter. As for the last 702 ?? We looked it over and well it wasn't good. We noticed that it did how ever have it's Donor Box checked and as much as we would like to save them all, we thought this to be the best option for this 702. Our happy patient. WHX?? 51,782 #32 Posted June 2 (edited) Since we don't have football to go on ... #1 died on the operating table so Dan was gracious enough to reduce it to a pile. Good thing you scored that show tranny from @stevasaurus @Mike'sHorseBarn. This is the one you would have got offered and she ... well let's just say it woulda been the four letter word. Input shaft and shifter froze solid but I woulda thrown in the custom shifter boot & hitch. Still parts is parts. The motor I don't know. I'll peel it apart and see if it's worth rebuilding or more parts. We know the spark plug threads are funked so ??? Edited June 2 by WHX?? 3
WHX?? 51,782 #33 Posted June 3 (edited) I did drain the cooling water out last winter. Mag drain plug & refill. Gets along well with the rest of the herd and motor sure does run good. Best come get it before it grows roots! Edited June 3 by WHX?? 2
