Thinking about it, got a 6 pound sledge.. But also don't want to risk damaging the steering wheel.

The slow motion of a press would probably be better.

I could use some advice on the primer.

Should I use self etching primer first and then high fill primer and sand then ready for paint? Or what is your guys recommendation for Rust-Oleum rattle can on bare metal?

The Paint Department AKA BBT AKA Trina does all our spray painting.

She's done both with & without primer and we've tried different colors of primer.

All Rust-Oleum 2X.

We ALWAYS remove as much rust as possible and do a GOOD cleaning with acetone.

After that she's had no issues with or without and no matter what color.

That said...... Rust-Oleum definitely recommends a base layer.

Haha I'm not in any rush so take your time.

Total length of the steering shaft is around 20 1/4" give or take a little.

Appreciate it man!

Cut the shaft hit on it some more and got it to move again. And then it didn't move anymore either way.

So took it over to the neighbors press and boy was it tight it took a ton of pressure to get it loose including having to push it back and forth a couple times.

Hood ornament is cracked but if you have seen either of my other two tractors you will know that is not staying on anyway.

Guess what's under the hood ornament that has never come off.. a hood stripe!!!! I was planning on putting one on anyway but it's cool to see it originally had one.

I also recommend Rust-Oleum. I'd use self etching if you aren't going down to bare metal. Two coats of that, then sand with 400-600 grit, clean it with a little rubbing alcohol, and last, PAINT

May not be able to use this carb, ran it in the ultrasonic cleaner for a while.

Air cleaner taps are all boogered up. And has cracks in the carb body.

The jet tube/seat is also stripped out that along with the corrosion not sure it's coming out.

And the bowl has holes haha second bowl I have that has holes.

I’m sure a member has at least one of these in their parts pile and can do better on the price. Heck, I’ll look tomorrow!

Eb has none of the right length at least that he can find haha.

I don't believe Pullstart does either.

No sir. I wouldn't.

You have multiple options IMHO.

Getting an aftermarket carb - to me - ISN'T one of them. But if that solves the issue it's a win.

@76c12091520h Brian Badman may have a carb.

Maybe Lincoln at A to Z Tractor in PA.

Since I already have a spare aftermarket carb that may just be what I go with for now. But yeah I don't think I would buy aftermarket carb, if given the option of having a original.

So the carb that was on this engine was a #26 that was not original to this 14hp engine, and that carb got used for my 12hp 73' Wheelhorse.

A # 30 would be better for a 14 HP.

Yep which is why I believe this engine didn't run as well as it should have, when I had it running.

Since this is the earlier K321 engine with the small exhaust valve so technically a #28 carb is the correct one, but those are apparently fairly rare to come across.
