Great find.  He'll really look nice after a little wire brushing and a light oil rub.

Missed out on the long horn steer, someone else had claimed it, now to learn taxidermy. Also want to tan a few hides, purchased a pressure washer for de-fleshing.

Never tried that.     Hard to believe it would work, but I'm willing to try it.      My arthritic hands hate scraping hides.

Its suggested to use the rotary nozzle.

Have you ever used the Dermestid Beetles for de-pleshing a scull.

Quite a few of the local pros use the bugs with good success with minimum labor.         I just boil my skulls for the European mounts,  then use Chlorox and peroxide for a wash and whitener.      I clean the older mounts with a bit of linseed oil on a cloth.    It picks up the dust and really brings life back into the antlers and horns.

Just a reminder, If you boil to clean skulls, suspend them so the antlers/horns are not in the boil.

I'll be picking up 20 litres 35% peroxide next week and was curious what effect it would have on flesh.
