Well Peter proceeded to tell us how delicious his lobster was and didn’t even show us a picture.  He may have been eating sardines for all we know! :confusion-shrug:

I was wandering are the parts on these tractors cast iron? I broke this off of the foot pedal and was wanting to weld it back together..

Mower, yes its cast iron I believe.

It can be welded but I'm not sure how strong it would be for a control pedal.

Maybe someone here has a spare laying around.

Is it a plain pedal with no words? Or does it have something cast into it like CLUTCH or BRAKE?

It would be a good idea to put an ad in our Wanted Section. I can check with a couple guys up here too just for kicks.

Readily available replacements. Place a “wanted” in classifieds or go directly to K&B or A-to-Z in our vendor list.

Cast iron is, as you likely know, weldable but good resulting strength at the joint is challenging. I agree with @Mickwhitt that a welded, safety-related part would be a concern for me.

Glad ‘red could help.  I’d have sent ya a pedal no problem!  :handgestures-thumbupright:  When you drive fast and take chances, there’s no need for BRAKE pedals!

Bolt size is optional.

Can be anything above ¾ or so really.

@Achto what's your puller got for a center bolt?

Easier to control the force being applied if the bolt has a fine thread.

I went with a 1”x6 1/2. I just got the nut welded on and letting it cool off so I can drill the lug holes

I wanted to jump on here and show y'all my lastest project. A 1960's model 704(mainly, other parts are used that aren't 704) i decided to try what I've wanted to do for a while. I had a bunch of parts lying around from other builds I've done and decided to pull out the frame and hood from the last 704 I built and start putting together my tricycle gear tractor.
