Might be mistaken EB but same tank across the 3 4 500s. Take a 520 tank with the sending unit and slide it under a 300 and add the gauge & appropriate wiring.

Hey EB, just happen to have a tank with a sending unit (no gauge, though).

Neat.

I have three 400 series tractors here. All have the gauge in the fuel cap on the tank. Didn't know the 520s had a separate gauge on the dash.

I'd like to find a universal one with a universal sending unit that I could wire up into Cinnamon Horse and also Colossus. Two very different size tanks though.

The sending units on the WH tanks fit into a separate opening on the tank. Nothing fancy, but the plastic around it was molded smooth so the gasket would seal properly.

A while back @Ed Kennell found a source for sending units of different sizes and with adjustments for different sending voltage ranges but I can't find the thread just now. Gauges are about $25 new all over the net.

Got any info on that?

I used a 520H fuel tank and gauge in my 312H.

Just had to add the appropriate wires to the harness and I mounted the gauge where the hourmeter was and installed a small hourmeter in an alternate location.

Here is the fuel gauge in the dash with angle rings so I can see it easier.

Here is the 520H fuel tank with sender unit. It fits the same as the original tank.

Here is the small hour meter.

This is the wiring diagram

This is the wire harness almost complete, just needs the last connectors installed.

Guilty as charged... but only in a pinch to get her running so take it easy on those lashes with the worn out drive belt.

Like @Achto I solder and shrink wrap all my stuff but I think he uses scotch locks too. Wraps them up with a roll of black tape... :ychain:

I believe 1 roll cheap garbage black tape per 1 scotch lock is an acceptable ratio.

Well I finally found the post and figured out why you don't remember, Ed.

It was in the fall of 2020 and it was Lynn who did this post.

My apologies for the confusion and thanks for the info @lynnmor!
