I have a '89 (I believe) 310-8 model with a 37" side discharge deck. I have found a lot of good information out here but haven't asked a specific question - til now... I'm getting a whine from the mower drive system whenever I hit thicker grass. The grass isn't THAT thick. I tried loosening and tightening the Mule drive, replaced the belt, laid some wax on the belt as dressing. None of these solve the problem. Wondering if the source could be something other than the mower drive belt. The sound does seem to be coming more from the engine area than the deck. Not from the engine itself but the drive wheel for the belt. Any ideas? Thanks much
