C160 Questions

She's a Newbie

I bought a C-160 beautifully restored but I plan on using it for a dependable mower.  The deck is totally shot.  I have a 42" deck that is currently on a 310-8.  Will it fit on my C-160?

Also, do most of you members use a lawn mower jack to work on your wheel horses?  If so, which one would you recommend?  Thanks you!

:text-welcomeconfetti:to the :rs:Yes, the 42" deck will fit on the C-160.       It may require a different length drive belt

One of the great things about Wheel Horse is interchangeability. The deck from you 310 will fit the C-160 and uses the same drive belt it used on the 310.

I have an automotive engine hoist that does a great job of lifting the front end of a :wh:. Perhaps others have some other device they use.

I'm using a 48" 70's deck on my 2005 and the 2005 42" deck is on my 76. Here's the lift I use after every mowing. Harbor Freight special. :)

:text-yeahthat: The 300# capacity is plenty for lifting the front up. :)

I just bought a deck for my 310-8, it’s a 42inch rear discharge, it came with a complete parts tractor, but I need new belts for it. Does anyone know what size belts I need?

So I’ve picked up a 310-8 recently and I’d like to start finding attachments for it.

the route I’ll probably go is picking up a parts tractor to rob attachments off of. I’d like to know what tractors have interchangeable attachments with the 310. Would a blackhood or a b series have similar attachments?

I’ve always been a bolens guy, so this whole wheel horse thing is new to me. Thanks for any help.

Hello. I just purchased a 1277 today and was wondering if there was any info on the mower deck. Is there a manual for this deck? What kind of belt is used? I have attached some pics. Thanks for any input.

Hi guys need you help have a 42" side Discharge Deck (Triple Blade) mower deck, mounted on a C-81, that is in bad need of an outside Spindle (Mandrel) the pulley on top is # 5877. The bottom bearing is toast. so I poise the following questions. Note pics attached.

      1. Does any on have one of these for less then a Kings ransome?
      2. Is it possible to disassemble and install an new bearing from like NAPA?
      3. All three spindles have NO Zerk grease fittings can I drill and add some...... if yes where on the housing is the best place to do this.

Thanks feel free to add any other options......
