stevasaurus 22,228 #4 Posted June 25, 2022 (edited) OK...1st, there are no 1" axle 6 speeds. All 6 speeds #5060 & #5071 and the 8 speed #5073 are 1 1/8" axles, but are LSD. Don's list is not correct either. Some 310's & 312's have 1" axles and 4 pinion differentials. (#5086 & #110996) All 4 pinion differentials have 1" axles...and all 1" axles have 4 pinion differentials. You are looking for models that have 1 1/8" axles and 8 pinion differentials. These are the #5091, #103907, #103916, #103918 & #110995. This list will help you a little, but in the long run, you will have to go to the Manual and see what transmission a particular horse has. It depends? I was perplexed by this question too. The overall impression (albeit conflicting) I got from my reading of the forum was that they should not be. But I found that a freshly re-lubed unit could be slipped through the gears while rolling if done gently - and with no apparent friction/grinding. IDK. Don I think it can be done, that being said, It's very risky and very difficult and don't recommend it. you will have to revmatch very precisely. Wheel Horse says to come to a complete stop and start out in the gear you want to use...for all of their manual transmissions. As for double clutching, that doesn't work for Wheel Horse...not when your clutch consist of a belt guard and a tension pulley. Maybe those with a drive shaft?? I do not know. Look at 400 series manual trans tractors. I have a trans somewhere and I'll check it out. Jr.) These are the words of another member on the forum... The 400 series have the heavier 1-1/8" axles with the 8-pinion diffs... 400's have 8" fronts and 23" wide rear skins... Some of the lists that we look at had typos. Sometimes I have big fingers, and I do. I was a lineman, not a secretary. If I make a mistake, and I do, I try to correct it and move on. GWest and I have had some back and forth over that 110995 & 110996 thing, and we got it straightened out. 1 1/8" axles with 8 pinion differentials...5091, 103907, 103916, 103918, 110995 1 1/8" axles with 10 pinion Limited Slip differentials...5060, 5071, 5073 1" axles with 4 pinion differentials, with hi/low range...5086, 110996 The 10 pinion LS transmissions are not usually what Pullers are looking for, they want the 8 pinion differentials. See, I got it wrong again. Now it is correct just above about the 110996 & 110995. I will try to correct my typing in the posts above also. I had it wrong in some of my notes, but I think I have my notes corrected at this time.
