Get a list of parts together that you need to fix it.  Place that list in the 'Wanted' section of the forum.  Go to the vendors section of the forum and call around to see if somebody has them in stock.

Maybe somebody will come along and post an exploded parts diagram that will show part numbers.

Try the Toro web site.  You might be able to find the parts diagram three.

I'll bet several somebodies here on the forum have had that part break and have fixed it.  One of them will probably post more helpful information than I have here.

Good luck.

I would try to find parts to change to the newer front mule drive. Much easier to remove and replace deck...

WHX??

I'll  have one too if Ed can't help you out. This was a common place for those to break. I have seen them welded there too.

The first picture… the shadow looks like a gaping hole in the frame! :ROTF:

To start out you would need to procure this bracket. This is the bracket Squonk showed in in your wanted thread except his had tabs welded on to be able to mount it to the frame side rails. It normally bolts right on but older tractors had a offset on the axle pivot to the frame front that would need to be dealt with. Spacers might work?

Once that is on you would need a standard front mule. I have a dozen of those ... @Ed Kennell has two dozen! :ychain: He might even have the mounting bracket.

Then the front mule clips right on that bracket.

I don't know if you will be able to use the deck you have or not.

I'd completely replace that side-mule assembly contraption.  It is unwieldy, cumbersome, unreliable, ....etc.  Here is a .pdf file to UPGRADE to the FRONT MULE drive system... Easy and take just an hour or so.  Once it is mounted, all you gotta do to adjust the belt is turn the knob.   Here is my old Raider 10...

ps.. I have all the parts for this upgrade.

@daveoman1966  agree with you on the upgrade on the drive ,would also use the swap time to upgrade the  lubrication on those mule bearings , easy to remove those rubber side shields and go lucas x-tra heavy duty green grease . no more bearing whine . wipe out existing " grease " carb cleaner flush , repack , polyurea , hi temp 560 deg , anti sling grease , all my deck related bearings have this , and no whining noise , only a suggestion , but you are right there in that swap out . good upgrade swap , pete

NO..  With this UPGRADE, most ANY 3-blade deck will still work without modifying the deck in any way.

All this does is re-route the drive belt around the front axle.  The drive belt PROBABLY will need replaced to fit.

The 42 and 48" decks take this belt... 868432920_10274294-2501.JPG.03646095aa5ce74373a8ec60fdef2804.JPG
