From coming monday until friday I'll be on vacation. After that, one week left until the show. Hope to have the tractor up and running by then. If not it will be trailered there and just be presented as a showpiece for now.

Well today was the 'big day'. First outing with my project at the local harvest-show. It took a lot of late nights but she runs and drives!

We had great weather and a great day. Now i'm feet up on the couch, tired but satisfied. 

 

This was last night at about 22:45, still lots left to install.

 

All loaded up this morning at 08:00

 

Parked at the show.

 

Together with some small(er) friends.

Looking good. I just can't get past the narrow front. Sorry. I have never seen a 14 or1568 with that. But? It looks great. Nice work. I hope the show went well.

@6wheeler thanks. And yes the narrow front is not for everyone. Although I know of atleast one 14/1568 in existence with a narrow front I don't think they were ever factory delivered like that.

I have most of the parts laying around to build a wide front and the mounting plate should allow for the narrow and wide front to be swapped, so who knows 

One thing i'm debating about is changing the front wheels for some wider ones and the rear for some narrower ones to get some better proportions. Front ones I have, rears I would need to buy so I'll be experimenting with the front ones first.

Thanks @ebinmaine and @Oldskool much appreciated. Hope your not tired of it yet because the hydraulic system and 3 point is up next.

Also found out some of the pulleys are in worse shape than I thought. Certainly driveable but they definately need replacing in the near future.

 

About the show, it was a great show. Due to the many people who stopped and talked I unfortunately totally forgot to take pictures of the show itself. Very rewarding to hear all the people enjoying it as much as I do.

If I find some pictures I can borrow i'll post some pictures of the show in a seperate topic.

That would indeed be great Idea. Being able to swap front ends without too much trouble would be neat. I have been toying with the Idea of making duals on my C-160. I was thinking of making a plate with an axle extension that would bolt onto the axle. Then the wheel goes over that. Then the extended axle would be capped and then some sort of hub assembly, much like the original hub would go on the end. That way it would be axle mounted duals. I put 6-12's on the rear of mine to narrow it down so I can cultivate between the rows in my garden. Maybe that would be a size that would fit your application. They are the size walk behind tractors take.  Looking good. Can't wait for paint...

@6wheeler I like the way you think. I really

like the idea and the looks of that kind of system but have never seen it on a garden tractor. I would say go for it!

Pictures below of an IH system. They use long axles and a clamp/hub combination.

Makes sense, thanks! The farmers around here used to run their old (worn down, with less of a lug) tires as duals. Same principle, less contact on the road, thus less friction, and in the field flotation when needed.

@6wheeler that tractor definately needs duals. Would beef up the look a bit IMHO. 

 

After doing some research I think 6-12 might a little small for my tractor. I currently have Carlisle Tru power 26x12.00-12 on which measure up to their advertised size.

6-12 would be 80mm (3,2") shorter and 200mm (8") narrower than the Carlisle's.

 I'm probably going for something like 7-12.
