Rick Ferrucci 17 #1 Posted November 12, 2021 Hello Red Square, I’m probably not the first person who’s been looking for 15” AG lug tires, that can fit in the fenders of a GT14. I think I may have seen some pictures on some, but I don’t know what size tires they are. If anyone had found any, please let me know what size can fit the stock rims. I'd highly recommend investing in a decent set of chains instead. That way they would be removable for non ice / snow usage. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

The reason I was thinking of studs was because, the new AG tires might not have room for chains between the tires and fenders. Why can’t these tire be studded by a tire dealer? I think they put the studs in with a pneumatic gun. I think they’re like an inverted mushroom. I didn’t want to screw in studs, because I didn’t want one to fall off the tire, and find its way into my car tire. Has anyone else studded their tires, or had it done? I have 2 link heavy duty ice chains on my V bar tires. They do have some effect but obviously not as much because some of the links are in between the bars. Rick Ferrucci 17 #17 Posted November 12, 2021 Right now the tractor has dry-rotted, stock, (original ’69) 27x9.5x15 turf tread tires. The chains take up another 3/4” clearance to the fenders. I mean, it’s like adding another 1 1/2” to the overall tire. I realize, probably turf tires with chains, is the best traction on snowy/ icy pavement. How are AG lug tires in snow? If they're VERY heavy and you have flat ground you may do ok. Our main yard is a little slanted especially near the edges. My tractor is close to useless without chains.... Rick Ferrucci 17 #21 Posted November 16, 2021 I thought about going the12” tire/rim route, but I didn’t know if I’d run into any issues with the rims I use, such as are there differences with the offsets, or are all Wheel Horse 12” rims, the same? I also see that the hubs are shorter. This video also answered another question I had. I guess you can’t slide the hub in closer, to get the tracking in line.
