Farymann (German) Diesel Engines?

Recommended Posts

oliver2-44

I took a load of scrap from the farm to the metal recycler and a Faryman Model 21A marine diesel engine generator was set to the side.  I didn't have my phone, so no picture.

The generator was apart and looked like it had a burned winding. engine was intact, but air cleaner and some pieces had a hard unloading.  The nameplate said 5kw,

Anyone have any experience with them? @Achto ?

On the Web I read Briggs bought Farymann for their marine diesels and sold a lot of them, but sold the company a few years ago. They went bankrupt in 2019. But someone is making parts! They are liquid cooled engines so would need a  lake or radiator!

Achto

I haven't heard of Farymann brand before. It appears that they cater to the marine industry. 5kw would be about 8hp.

Being that these engines are made in Germany maybe @Tractorhead may know a little about them.

@oliver2-44

It is a 7.5hp engine, displacemennt is 348cc

Looks like a solid engine as oilpresure can be up to 60 PSI

an 21A is normally air cooled!

We still can find parts here as well.

Well i went back to the salvage yard today.

They let you walk the pile at 12-12:30 while there at lunch.

Upon closer inspection this engine was broken beyond repair from being unloaded with the backhoe claw.   .
