formariz 12,041 #1 Posted October 18, 2021 In my in-laws home here there is this marble top that has always puzzled me. It has a vein that has these metal particles imbedded in it. They are hard to photo showing correctly how they are. They are golden in color, I always though they may actually be gold. Hopefully our resident expert @bc.gold can put this mystery to rest. 953 nut 59,917 #2 Posted October 18, 2021 When limestone is converted to marble any impurities in the limestone become the veins. If gold is present in your area there is no reason it couldn't become a part of the marble. I don't know how you could test it in a nondestructive manner. Stranger things have happened but with that many visible inclusions I'm sure the people mining that marble would have had an assay done, I'm with lynnmor what your seeing if fools gold.
