Sanded and painted the air filter box for the Work Horse today…

but we have a problem.

I could not resist trying to Fire it up, Fire it up, Fire it up, as they say at Taryl’s… but I turn the key and nothing…

New battery. About a month or so ago when I got the transmission back in and the drive belt on she cranked fine . I was checking the transmission a little…

What’s the first thing I should check ?

Check the battery. May have a drain… may have left key on… etc.

Then trace all wires. May just have overlooked a simple connection…

@SylvanLakeWH, On any of the safety switches, does it matter which wire goes to which terminal ?

Could I just jump any particular switch to bypass and check it ?

How do I jump the key switch ?

I’d just jump each switch one at a time, simple on / off… direction won’t matter…

Battery good?

@SylvanLakeWH… I got it!

I started jumping switches while I had another member on the phone (if he wants to break his anonymity he can).

It turned out to be the PTO switch.

Just ordered one on Fleabay…

Thanks a million for the quick response!

My apologies for the confusion there. I had my 310-8 on my brain, and the PTO switches are seperate. I've never seen one like that before, but I'm glad you found it. You'll be crusin' soon!

9 pages? All you got left is the hood and decals for it. You can do that easy!

....Heck we can team up on this thing if we have to. There are four or five of us within an hour from you. Case of beer and some hot dogs outta take care of it in two pages! :thumbs:

 @kpinncDid you find a new one or a used one on the 'bay?

The brake switch on my C195 is of similar look and construction.  I could not find a source for a new one, so I ended up opening the switch to clean the contacts and increase the spring force a bit.

@8ntruck… the PTO switch above is from my 1984 Work Horse GT-1600.

I think the Work Horses was comparable to the 300 series Wheel Horses… somebody correct me if I’m wrong…

The PTO switch part number off the 1984 Work Horse GT-1600 is 109327. Found it new on Fleabay… it is also used as a light and fan switch on refrigerators….

Different manufacturer for your replacement.  I was chasing a Littlefuse part number on my brake switch - which turned out to be NLA.

I will keep the appliance parts house in mind for future needs like this.

@Horse Newbie and @8ntruck

When that's verified as a working switch in the application it would be a great idea to type out all that info in a post using extra "keywords" so we can search it later.

Sure is a niiiiice restoration.

You've done a massive amount of work on this tractor.

I've seen folks use the "R" word many times having done much less than this.

Far as I'm concerned, you've accomplished a good quality full restoration.

Excellent work Sir!!

Some might say I haven’t posted here for a while as to not get in the way of EB’s jib jabs.  I just get distracted and forget about restorations, then forget about the wheel horse section, and can’t sit and multitask at the same time.  Or do anything else and multitask for that matter.  Enough jibbers, @Horse Newbie this rig is looking slick!  Can’t wait to see it at the Big Show!
