Well as you can see, I have torn it down farther than I had planned...strange...

But I am moving forward, and cooler, wet weather may slow things down a bit.

Glad you are showing interest !

What's holding it on?

Is that a bolt in the end ?

Handy Don

Watching for the good answer because I'd become impatient and use a 3-jaw puller on web close to the shaft with penetrant, maybe some careful heat, and an occasional dead-blow hammer tap. I'd probably break the drum!

@ebinmaine Yes there is a bolt in there... that’s what is holding the drum on!

We got it off, using a 2 jaw puller @Handy Donand some heat. May have not needed the heat, not sure about that...

got the left side wheel hub off with the tool pictured a few frames above, but I don’t have a picture of it because it is on my old Android phone and I got an IPhone on the way home and have not figured out how to move them from an Android to an IPhone yet.

@kpinnc  I did not get a lot done today on the Work Horse. After I got home from the welder, I was gonna dive in to it, but my Android was ticking me off so I went to get a new phone. That took a few hours... after that I did manage to clean the transmission a bit to get ready to paint it. The bad thing is this is not painting season outside.

Trina keeps the parts to be painted in the basement until ready to be sprayed.

Immediately after painting they're brought right back inside.

Had a little set back installing the new seals... the input shaft seal outer edge got caught on the transmission housing... guess I’ll order 2 more from Lowell at Wheel Horse Parts and More...

If you have a Napa or other auto parts store near, they may be able to get them sooner.

Give me a part number, O Great One, or do you reckon it would be the same part number as Lowell’s ?

Got 3 sides of the transmission painted... also got 1 side of the transmission input pulley, and 1 side of the hubs painted.

Other parts wire brushed and waiting to be cleaned for paint. I’m gonna try to paint enough MISC parts next to use a whole can of paint... nozzle clogged on last can and almost wasted 1/2 the can...

If that's a 3/4" shaft it should be SKF 7410.

If you go to the top of the transmission section there's a thread with all the transmission bearings and seals cross referenced.

Unless I was looking at something wrong, it’s a 5/8” shaft...

Input seal is SKF 6105, the brake seal is SKF 7410, and the 1" axle seals are SKF 9815.
