Actually Dan and I know a local that has one similar to that but a few years later.  Has the initals HP, for Harold Pond,  welded into one of the chain cases. That right there is the granddad of the Senior.

Speedex family Ponds were cousins to the Wheelhorse Ponds.

Elmer Ponds  brother.... Harold worked/owned for Shaw/Speedex. When Elmer went on his own circa 19?? ..I'd have to look that one up....He took a few of Harold's/Speedex ideas. Love was not lost between Harold and Elmer as Harold moved to Iowa and became a corn farmer.

Harold and Elmer had a falling out over making tractors and did not speak to each other for over fifty years - dying not having reconciled!  Mike Martino recounts this fact in his Wheel Horse book 📕 " Straight from the Horses Mouth".

It is a good read Greg but not 225 good. Most of us that have a copy paid around 50. They do crop up here in classifieds reasonable. Some  of the addicts here have all three editions!  Sometimes those evilbay sellers must think us collectors/restorers  are complete idiots not the partial idiots we are!

I’d love to read it but 225 is a bit steep. I’ll bet there’s a lot of good reading though.
