Racinbob 11,929 #1 Posted June 21, 2021 Our daughter and her family had dinner with us yesterday as a storm moved through the area. We totaled just over 3.5" of rain and had some wind but no damage at all. They got home to find this. Fortunately just some gutter damage on the house. In her usual fashion she's already posted on Facebook making light of it and understanding that it's just going to take a bit of work to get it cleaned up. I'll bet the chickens penned up in that coup added some extra fertilizer to the ground.

Pullstart 66,752 #3 Posted June 21, 2021 We lost our brand new EZ Up to the winds that came through, but we didn’t get much rain. Lights have flickered a few times this morning...
WHX?? 51,745 #4 Posted June 21, 2021 OK Kev now for the million $$ ?. If you could sense a storm coming why would you not have taken the popup down!?!? You know canopies and camper awnings do not play well with wind!
squonk 43,819 #5 Posted June 21, 2021 (edited) Did you at least have it weighted down? My 12 X12 ended up 3 spots down at @ACman's site at the show 3 or 4 yrs. ago. I got 35 lb. weights on each corner now. survived a couple of whoppers at the steam pageant! Edited June 21, 2021 by squonk

We were running around putting the party away when we felt it coming. The supplier is sending a replacement (won’t arrive for the show) and we found a nice one locally this morning too. It has nice nail style stakes and I’m planning to bring weight of some type to hold it down as well.

You're bringing enough tractors tie the corners to 4 of them. 1 1 1

I'm told them countless times that they need to do something with the massive silver maples that are too close to the house. This might be a good time to mention it again.
DougC 2,643 #9 Posted June 21, 2021 Glad to hear nobody hurt Bob. I agree with you about the silver maples, I have them around my house as well and they are very dirty and sometimes dangerous when the wind blows.
