Fuel pump check valves

Recommended Posts

I have 2 original Kohler M series fuel pumps that I would like to rebuild but I can’t find a source for the check valves. I can get the diaphragm easily but no valves. I save tractors does not have them. Anyone have a source?

Then and now states that the valves will not fit securely in the plastic pumps.    https://www.then-now-auto.com/product/ac-4s-kohler-fuel-pump-kit/

These kits are made right here in our shop using diaphragm material made to withstand the high alcohol content of today’s fuels. Each kit comes complete with new valves, new diaphragm assembly, and new gaskets. Everything you need to get the pump working like new again! Please note that our valves WILL NOT fit securely in the “plastic pumps”.

I just got off of their web site and read the same thing. I still may call them tomorrow and present my case.  I am sure they have been asked about the plastic pumps before

Good idea.  He has a video on YouTube for the AC4S kits that mentions that you can use JBWeld to stick the valves firmly into the plastic pumps.  Don't know if that will work for your particular pump, but worth asking.

I'll see if I can find the video I was thinking about.

Talked to Then and Now this morning.  They said they would sell me the check valves for $20 + shipping but now decided that the next time I need a pump I will just buy an electric one.  I think setting them in JB Weld is going to be a challenge.  He did mention that there has been talk about possibly building kits for the plastic pumps

Make a plate like this and put a vacuum impulse pump on it.  Bill
