Assuming you'll use this instead of the existing footrest, I'd think it's got possibilities.

Used atop the existing footrest, I'd be very concerned that it would trap dirt and moisture and be next to impossible to keep clean.

I have a thought about that. I'll keep you posted.

I took the rubber tread off my 520 because it was rusting under it. Hadn't put anything back on as I though I might paint it. It don't look bad with the patched paint job I used to take care of the rust.

I was actually thinking of cutting out the large holes in the original foot rests to match the treadplate. I've already got flat bar under the foot rests so they don't flex.

That's the thought I had as well.

I think if you did that and maybe used an air hose to blow out the other holes occasionally you'd be fine.

Good water pressure would do the trick...

And, maybe a leaf blower to blow out the water... ;)

Well Don, I have to say that is a compliment I've not yet heard for my tractors... And I appreciate it regardless.

But now I can't get it out of my head!  ...might have to make a sound bite for a short driving video when I roll her out!

Got it wrapped in a blankie right now in the garage. The Bronco 14 has tied up my work space for the last couple weeks.

Seems I never fully complete anything. I'm always going back and tweaking stuff.

The footrests of all things on this tractor stumped me. I found some great aluminum tread plate for them, but knew they would hold all kinds of dirt. Drilling the footrests to match would be a chore, plus they'd be weakened considerably.

So today I finally finished the left side. Drilled a heckuvalot of holes, and welded a 1 x 1/8 steel reinforcement to make up for all the holes. Tuned out pretty good. Probably do the right side tomorrow...

Absolutely nothing wrong with that.

Make it work.

Make it yours.

Make it more functional for the intended purpose.

Looks excellent.

Cool tread!  I bet a couple dimple dies on the holes in the step would strengthen it significantly too!

Right side done. Crazy how stiff these are with the reinforcement underneath. No flex whatsoever.

Dupont Centari. I cheated and had the hood and fender painted in a car shop.

Very nice.  What are the tread plates from?  Did you ever get the linkage re engineered for the hydro pedal?  I seem to remember you were thinking about building a return to neutral function for it.

I used to sell that back in the 90s. Ya know... last century.

Great stuff.
