custom attach-a-matic attachments?

Recommended Posts

Ifixoldjunk

Recently I've gotten into welding, so far I've built a custom bagger mount weight bracket for my 310-8. Now I'm thinking about making some kind of ball hitch attachment for my front attach-a-matic. Has anyone made custom attach-a-matic implements? Pictures are welcome, I'm still trying to wrap my head around how id do it. :text-feedback:

I know that the front end probably i'snt meant to tow much, I just think it would be a cool project:dance:

There's a fellow on evilbay that sells front attachmatic trailer receivers, could give you some inspiration.

I think you'd be pleasantly surprised at what these tractors will move from the front.

As to custom mounts I have a generator bracket that was made by another member.

That's a good idea...

@stevasaurus has a front mounted trailer hitch that looks very strong. Perhaps he will chime in with a picture or two.

I have one of the fleabay 2" front receivers. Put a step extension from Harbor freight in it and piled concrete blocks on it. They're really strong.

My only word of caution is that they are really strong with down force.  There's no resistance to keep that weight from going up. Proceed with caution over bumps.

I like how that has a mid hitch combination mount for extra secure-ism.

Several years ago I bought as D160 with the most ---- God awful, Rube Goldberg, cobbled together, etc, etc ball attachment on front!! He had it tied in to the center lift and would raise & lower the ball height for different trailers (he had a boat yard) Was actually pretty well thought out and probably worked good ---- but, Lordy at the workmanship:eek:

Course after he let us in the house to finish a phone call and we had a look around his house ---- you ever watched the "hoarders"  - and then outside to the 2-3 acres of ..... JUNK, to see the tractor, well I didnt wonder too much about his workmanship on the hitch.

But, I immediately saw that the 160 had a blue painted K341 sitting in the frame, and he complained about having to buy a 'brand new' engine and now has to sell it, etc, etc. The little Texas towns powers that be were about to fine him $500 a day until he cleaned up that mess he had.

I didnt hesitate to pay him the $300, and it turned out to be a right nice 'Big D'

Heh!, as I'm writing this I'm recalling 2-3 other buys that were .... well pretty weird --- Most of us have prolly got a few too. Hey, its just another one of the perks that come with loving Wheel Horses!!

Here is mine.  A member here (Shorts) Paul made it for me.  This works fantastic, and goes on and off easily.  :occasion-xmas:

Here's mine. Old mule drive minus pulley. I suppose you could leave the pulley on.

so here’s what I ended up making. Just really a trial run for making homemade attachments. I might have other ideas up my sleeve still
