@wallfish

Awhile ago I bought a 7/8  reamer and set it aside for usage next time we needed to repair and bush an axle. Today was the day. Millie was the lucky guinea pig.

I started by having Trina hold the frame while I drilled the front. That was... Cumbersome for both of us.

For the rest of the front frame hole I set the frame in the vise. Then for the back one I stood the frame up and clamped it to the bench.

Hand holding the drill was very challenging so to drill the axle I decided to use the drill press.

Trina sprayed oil at intervals while we combined forces to hold the axle and run the drill.

Went very well.

In addition to that I put the four new seals in the transmission and Trina got that all degreased. A wash with acetone and it'll be ready for paint.

Trina also made up a little link rod for the governor to carb.

She "sourced" the wire from some construction marking flags I'd bought for the barn project last year.

Cutty pasty and a Z bender. Done!

Me n BBT been fightin' colds and busy this last week.

Finally got a few minutes to get back on this one...

Trina got the engine bolted back down to the work table so she could tighten the oil pan bolts to spec.

I checked the progress on the soaking carb and fuel pump. Should clean up nice.

She finished the torque sequence for the head bolts while I pointed which ones went when.

Transuhmashun is boltededed to the frame.

I don't want to take the time to make up angle iron braces yet with a busy spring coming up and we're really looking to bring this tractor to Zagray CT May 6th.

I added extra thick SAE washers to the assembly. That'll help hold the rig together for now.

Here's a closer look at the bushings at the front axle.

Steering tie rods on.

Tow in verified at ¼".

A little strong but these tie rods will be replaced soon because they're a dash loose. We'll get more precise with tow in when the rods can hold a reading better.

One rear axle hub on.

All new studs with washers and new set screws too.

Who broached them hubs... you two timing me?!? :ychain:

Tip on that brake spring EB ... slip a piece of tubing over it to keep from wearing into the band.

Looks GREAT Eric and Trina😎. Such a cool little tractor and a hard worker too.  That limited Slip Tranny will be handy for all sorts of projects around the property.  You guys are close to having this one back in action🙌🏻🙌🏻

I was going to ask EB to make up some battery cables for me since he has all the parts. Then I decided I might want to try out this Raider before July or August 2025.
