It’s probably been said in this thread before but I’m going to say it again. Dogs will give you some of the happiest days of your life and one of the saddest days of your life. After my last dog died I didn’t want another dog. I was so emotionally exhausted I became physically exhausted as well. Even had to take off work. About 9 months later my wife and daughter wanted me to go “Look” at a Springer Spaniel puppy, well I’m sure you know how that went. Now I have a new best friend! Her name is Lucy! RIP to your Lucy Pete As hard as this was, it was harder to watch her suffer. Yes, we are heartbroken, but i know there is another dog out there who needs to be rescued. In time, we will find him or her. 7 years ago, in July, I lost my golden retriever Sierra. She had been with me through divorce and years of bachelorhood. Cancer took her too early, and after a badly botched euthanasia I was devastated. I too swore i would never own another dog, and for 2 or 3 years I didn't. Then Lucy came along, abused & frightened. Donna & I rescued her, and she rescued me. I'm missing her badly right now. Edited yesterday at 12:26 AM by HyperPete 1
