Well I had gathered up this seat for Hiram.....BUT.....the wife stole it for her tractor.

Its 1.5" pipe. Ya, I think I will just weld it on. Not sure what I will do on the top. Maybe a flapper, maybe a mushroom cap, maybe.......

For the most part I think.  I'm not going to be mowing with it and spend hours at a time on it. Alot of on and off of it. I can always add more I guess.

Fumes from engine stacks must depend on the engine. My Predator is my shortest stack and I never get fumes from it. The 7hp Kohler on the Lawn Ranger is similar in height but it fumigates me any time it’s running.

I would think it probably does depend on the engine. How short is your shortest stack? Mine is going to be about 18in above the hood

Black Horses stack is about the same hight. No problem with fumes.

On the 606 it’s about 10”. The muffler is 8” and the tip is 8” and only about 2” of the muffler is above hood plus the 8” tip.

I ran into a bit of a snag. Looks like I will have to alter the rod going to the brake band. As it is now, it doesnt line up. Unless I have something out of place. Which brings me to a bit of another question. If the left pedal works the brakes and clutch what is the right pedal for?

On a 60s tractor the one pedal does both functions. 

Around 1970 Wheelhorse started using 2 pedals on manual transmission tractors. 

 

Left is clutch. Right is brake. 

 

If your setting up your own rig it's a preference issue deciding the way you go. 

 

I prefer 2 pedals in my hilly yahd.

Ok so I was thrown off by the frame i got from you. It had both pedals but the one pedal ran both. Now that I'm set up that way I may back track and split them. Thanks for clearing that up.

So most of the weekend I thought I may have had welders flash from some spot welding I had done on Saturday. Mid day Sunday  i started having other suspicions. This morning the eye doctor confirmed my suspicions. There were several foriegn objects deeply imbedded in my eyes. Yay! Just what ya want to hear. Nothing worse then watching someone stick a needle in your eye!
