Hey can you give a short tutorial about how you fill those holes with weld?

Those old lug holes were about 9/16" in diameter. The rim was approx. 5/16 " thick. I used a 1/2" rod cut into 3/16" thick pieces. I then placed a magnet on the back of the rim over a hole. Then dropped a 1/4" washer in the hole for a spacer. Then the 3/16" x1/2" rod piece was placed in the hole on the washer. Once that was done I did a rosette weld on top of that piece. Flipped the rim, removed the magnet and washer. Then did a rosette weld on that side. Grind smooth. If it was structural I probably would have gone with a smaller diameter rod to get more weld in there.

I'm ussually caffeine free, I had one of those frappuccinos and just got whirling around in the garage and forgot.

Well I think I better stay off the caffeine when doing stuff.

I came out to the garage this morning.

WHAT!! Why is the white paint peeling off the rim!!

Looking closer at he can of white I  then answered my own question.

I'm a dumba$$ that's why.

As soon as its fully dries Im back to stripping paint. At least it is only one.

Just curious. How far do the wheels usually turn to the side? It probably is just me but they seem to turn quite far.

Your wheels seem to be a few degrees more turned then my wheels will do but my axle has stoppers on it so the spindles hit them and stop b4 going full 90. Maybe ur axle has them and I can't see them?

I dont think my axle has stops. My steering stops when the steering  gear hits the frame

Yeah until I had both wheels on when I 1st turned that 1 wheel I just thought to myself well I better not cut to wheel to fast but once I got both on it looked a bit more natral and turns nicly. Mind you my wheels are pushed about 2ish" from where they would normaly be on the spindles so angle may be a little less then stock not sure how that effects it.

Maybe weld sum stoppers to the spindle arm to stop it at a less aggressive angle?

My fronts are out a bit more then stock as well. I may put some bump stops on, but I kinda like the radius. I will have to see how it steers and how recovery is from a turn

Let's see your view from your workplace "window". I know some are driving truck,or tractor, work in shops/offices or outdoors. What is it that surrounds you during your work day?

I've had some stuff laying around for a while now. I've had some ideas kicking around my head for a while as well.
Well they met each other a few days ago.
This is going to be a camp buggy of sorts.
Like any of my other builds I would appreciate any input anyone want to donate.

I've wanted to do this type of project for a while now. So here we go. The name was given by @wallfish. It will be called "The Yeti".  It will be painted and badged in a military theme. The front axle is in progress now.
