:text-coolphotos:               Two beautiful :wh:             :bow-blue:

Those plastic hubcaps on the 312 have substantially more drag than the chrome ones on the 1045, that alone would account for 1/10 MPH difference!                  :ROTF:

Are you referring to the exposed belt on the HY pump?

That is the belt for the HY-3. Look for the 1045 Decal, that’s the belt guard your thinking of.

WHX??

That is one sharp looking 1045 oldman! :handgestures-thumbupright: and the HY icing on the :occasion-cake: Your tire selection is off the hook!

My favor model but I doubt I will ever resto it. I got her whipped into good mechanical tho. I think @prondzy is nuts for letting this one go but knowing him he's probally got another one stashed.

Weathers nice out this weekend I need to get some glamor shots. Some steering gear work here.

I like ‘em in patina! I have several only the repaired sections are restored/repainted.

Honestly, lately tired of tractor body work!

HY-3’s were more common among the early Cub Cadets. There is a Spring inside which breaks and usually found that way. The remnants of the spring need removed to install the new one correctly! A friend had a “shop” rebuild his and they just through the spring in and gave it back in as state of disrepair! I rebuilt it for him with this kit below.

However a kit is still available.

The brackets to utilize one for wheel horse would be easy to make. Expect to pay a good bit for one HY -3 regardless of condition.
