Big Ags.....who's running them?

The tractor is basically in its simplest form an engine,transmission and tires. Lots of good info and conversations on engines and trans but not too much on tires. Ive always run turf pattern 23s with chains or 6-12s but Im seeing a lot of you running 24s and 26s. I had a pair of 26s on Super Cub wheels awhile back but sold them. I kind of know what I will run when the time comes but want to see what's on the back (and front for that matter) on all your machines. Lets see some pics.

I have Ags on the back of both my tractors.

 

While plowing last week I lost a chain but not traction. There is also a wet spot in the neighbor's yard where their sump discharges and my JD with turfs would get stuck there almost weekly. The Ag tires don't even think about it, they just go.

Soft ground AGs   hard packed icy frozen under surface chains and turf (or better yet 6x12 and chains)

American Farmer 7.60 - 15. They measure approximately 30" tall. 

 

 

Here's a couple views of Cinnamon Horse. 

That has a Carlisle commercial grade tire that's sized 23 x 10.50 x 12. It measures a full 23. They are also a wide aspect tire and have a rim guard feature. The tire rubber actually wraps out around the edge of the rim. 

I do run chains on these for plowing snow.

I can't wait to see those 30s on the back of Colossus. Form and function all in one. Those 23s are in the ballpark of what im looking at. GCT in Cleveland is likely where I will get them as I dealt the owner for several previous purchases.

Been thinkin I'd mount em up even though only the rears would be on. I do want to see the clearance to the seat.

Taller tires are desirable for some but, to turn them keep in mind that all motion goes through a cast iron hub and 1 wooddruff key. If you are in to off roading then think of them as the fuse. In this case not cheap to fix.

I'd had that in mind when in thinking mode for my build. 

I'll be using the smallest sized engine pulley I could get to slow the rig down a little. I don't remember what size but maybe 3"(?). 

 

More importantly I've got GT14 axles and keys. The keys are about 2.5 times the length of a C Series key.

I have tractors with 6-12, 23x8.50 & 23x10.50 ags on the back. All of them serve their purpose. The 26x12's pictured above are mainly for a cool factor, but the tractor does pull a plow pretty nicely with them.

A guy on YouTube put 24 inch cub wheels on a Sears st16 and used it to plow his garden. I'm curious as to how it's doing theses days.

I've had them on for about 3 years now and they're wearing VERY nicely.

These are OTR Lawn Trac R1 in 23x10.50-12 on 8.5" rims you can get 24 and 26 tall 12 wide as well. Nothing against the Carlisle TruPower just something I tried and have been very impressed by so far after a couple years of all conditions/uses.

 GCT sells those as well and I like them. I noticed your tractor in other threads and those caught my eye.

That's why I bought them, I mesured them, and with air estimate to have like 0.5 inch in height left.

My native language is not English, so were does AG stand for, Maybe does ITP's arent AG?

@slim67 Given the choice right now today I'd buy the OTRs. I like the way the center of the tread has a different angle.

Might be the wrong offset on your wheels just might need a pair of hub to wheel spacers like a 1/2-3/4" thick to cure that.

That's probably the problem, because they arent WH rims

7 x 12 ag’s, seem to work ok, especially with a heavy implement on the back. The wheels are a bit too wide for the tyres/ tires though.fronts are 10” diameter, I can’t remember if they are 4” or 5” wide.
