Stormin 9,975 #1 Posted November 14, 2020 Came home from a walk today and spotted this little fellow down the track. Helping himself to some apples dumped there. Not seen any deer for quite some time. He's the second one I saw today. First was as I was walking round far off in a field 9 3

oliver2-44 8,852 #5 Posted November 15, 2020 He probable was trying to hone in on a doe and an older buck ran him of and broke the other antler off in the process.

That's exactly what we call them one horned guys around here! 5 hours ago, Stormin said: He is a roe stag though. They cast antlers in November to December. Looks an awful like our common whitetail over her Norm. Ours don't drop antlers till well after the first of the year tho.
Stormin 9,975 #7 Posted November 19, 2020 Had a walk down the track this afternoon. Came across the buck lying dead on one side. He is unmarked, so can only assume when he ran off 0n seeing my neighbour, he had an apple in his mouth and maybe choked. I'll get a tractor and trailer out tomorrow and with my neighbours help bury him in a corner off his field.
