520H Light switch won't come out...bigger hammer ?

I have found out while doing some wiring repairs and buttoning it back up that I have s bad light switch on my 94' 520H.

Can any of you noble gentlemen tell me how to get the light switch out of my dash before I get a bigger hammer ?

Does it come out towards the steering wheel or under the dash towards the battery ?

I saw where @arrkerr had found one at Auto Zone.

@arrkerr does it come out towards the dash or towards the battery ?

See the ears on the back side?  Flatten them and push the switch towards the steering wheel.  See photo.

 

You probably can buy a switch at an auto parts store for a fraction of the Toro price.

Yes I see them @lynnmor.

On the top and bottom...

I'll try to take it with me when I go to the Auto Zone, or other parts store (wherever I can find it).

Thanks for your help on the oil pressure switch.

I tested the wire from the oil pressure switch to the ground on the hour meter and got no resistance so I know the wire is good.

Then I put an alligator clip jumper on it, spun the engine with a drill and the light went out.

So I think I have the right terminal for the ground to the hour meter.

I now think my hour meter is not running...

Any help would be appreciated greatly !
