"C'mon do a trick!'

Hahahaha

We have two varieties of those here in our Maine Forest.

One we see very regularly which is orange and usually has darker orange or reddish orange tiny little spots on it. Those are quite small. Often only two or three inches long even including the tail.

The other one we see, much less often, looks similar to that one but has yellow spots on a black surface.

Those are probably about the same size as what you have there.

That think is very cool! I don’t ever recall seeing one similar to it around here except in the pet store.  Thanks for sharing!

953 nut

Not very active is he?     Must be about time for hibernation.      We have a lizard that suns himself on the back deck in the afternoon that looks about the same.

pullstart, those are very common to  " VERNAL POOLS "  in a marshy / wetlands  type of growth. in my area ,those land areas are hotly contested for future housing sites , as they are natures way of having a natural water discharge area . housing built on them have constant water problem areas . been to a number of town meetings , to stop a building sites. pete

Down here (N La) Ive always heard them called "Skinks"? Seem to remember they are a type of salamander?

Amazes me how often I'll find one in the house, and they are FAST scooting little guys - their tail will fall off pretty easily too.....
