New addition to the herd. 877

Nice score!  Seems like the xx77's have been coming out of the woodwork lately around here! I just love the long hood with the narrow bottomed grill and I see so few in my area. Either way overpriced when I do see them or no play money when one is priced okay.

Mason is excited to test out the 877.
We just got the plow hooked up . I was grateful for all the photos on Redsquare so I could figure out how to attach everything. The only thing I had to get was a lift bar from the local hardware store.
Mason said the 877 is much better than the Suburban to plow with.

I started taking the hood apart to get it ready for paint and found bare metal between the hood and the mounting bracket. No wonder I see a lot of hoods that have rot in that spot. This one only has surface rust. Not bad for a 1967.

too bad WH didn’t primer before paint.

I noticed that when i stripped the paint off of this hood. No primer at all. I guess that would have slowed production down.

Threw the extra paint from the C145 project on yesterday. Today Mason and I installed the cool hood ornament from @Wheel Horse 3D

The other big rot spot is the area in front of the hood where the top and front are spot welded together.

Yep. It was me. I like how the ornament reflects in the paint.
I will let you know about the next project. It’s going benefit a  charity organization .

Thank you

Thank you Kev.
We just wanted to clean this worker up a little bit. This one mows and plows. It might revive a full restoration in the future. It runs so well and works hard , I want to preserve it for many year to come.

Mason got hired to dethatch a neighbor’s lawn. He enjoys putting the 877 to work.
