Automatic Headlight / Frontlight  is working.

So it lits up if engine turns, stop when engine is off and no drop of Charging Voltage.

with a Diode and a Capacitor the flicker doesn‘t hurt.

2 completely separate systems now.

you can have it, but it ain‘t lift anything.

ok, so let‘s check the Valves srew them out and verify - oh, that‘s not a seal, that something sticky.

Aaaaahhh, that was a seal in the past. Check if i had anything usable.

huh, yeah, but it fit‘s not really. So order a Gasketset but try it before if it will work.

Buyed by an oops a Predator Engine with 9 HP.

While i want to move the side, i clicked into buy and the quickpurchase option does the rest.. 😂

ok, no problem, there is never a reason why not keep that Engine..

better to have than to need 😎

Yesterday it was delivered, the only dis was it was in a wrong Color.

086ABF70-170D-4A03-84C2-303404E851DA.jpeg.0c132b382e2624963b8cbdc907572dab.jpeg

So i decide today to begin a rework for a usable spare purposes.

i like to have it as spare for my Horse and a yellow Engine is absolute no option.

so let‘s disassemble it..6CF379A1-0DCD-4CE4-9D56-F6E04E3294DB.jpeg.0d7239fb321af9dee8d65e46c68194bc.jpeg

sanding it a bit with grinding fleece and remove unwanted Stickers..

after that i painted it in the right Color Scheme.

And do a few modifications,

Than fill up Oil, doublecheck all things, they be required

and remount it

The Exhaust will be changed later because of lack of Material.

A testrun show‘s it fires right up and run‘s smooth in idle.

Than i do a burn in test and let it run a full Tank in mixed speeds.

did not yet take a decision for a Swap, but i have it in spare just in case....😎

We have a company here "Harbor Freight " that sells the Predator brand engines , but only the 13 and 22 horsepower units have electric start. The 6 horsepower is very poplar for different equipment. I think @pullstart ended with a 6 horsepower that I purchased but could not use for a project.

While i looking arround to order the Seals for the palette truck,

i get an great offer with both Valves for a very fair price. ( just a little more than the seals allone.)

a cheap palette truck here is dealed at about 250-300€ the Seals are 40€ and both Valves are 60€

there is no doubt, exchange them but keep the old as spare and maybe fix it later.

Today they arrived

Did you use a relay or transistor between the engine and the battery (along with a diode) to make it automatic?

Interesting that the little bit of remaining flicker synchronized with the frame rate of the video so that it looks like it is still flickering! Ah, technology does fascinate me.

After i changed the Valves the Pallete truck is back in Service.

Because i‘m in the Workshop, i decided to build a custom Exhaust for the Spare Engine.

34BC66EB-E62E-4C7E-86FA-2B87C5453663.jpeg.7ec5a30e239ff6a171bb74adba9dedd6.jpeg

To do this i fabed a flange out of a piece of 5 mm steel flat i had laying arround.

i cutted it in shape, than drill 3 holes in with 9,5mm and opened one up to 16mm like the original was.

0BC02894-CF10-46E0-9D6F-C7689A7E59A5.jpeg.1f7cd803800d5779cd3e9ae1f29a532c.jpeg

Than i decided to enlarge it a bit more to 24mm.

1D65A8E0-9BAD-447C-BD29-C16F561AAF56.jpeg.ed7ee6401204cc7a218bd48c51c97268.jpeg

i grab a piece of a steelpipe and cut it after 30mm in a Angle of estimated 30 deg. I think.

don‘t use a exact measuring, because i don‘t know how it will be ends up.

CCB2002D-C140-40E2-A60E-E0537F3E7EC6.jpeg.5c18de2f2195ad2dc4c6613571721eaf.jpeg

it was not exactly 90 deg to the Engine, but who cares, it‘s just for a Try.

i like to reuse the Original Muffler but it canot be implemented, it it‘s be kept as it was mounted factory.

So i just have to bring it little moue outside .

Spot on and see how it turns out. - not too Bad.

Ok, let‘s weld it up.

F406C263-7CB4-45C0-BBAB-EA5E5FC25830.jpeg.0cfe223ed4fcf5d3094c10a77b9d999b.jpeg

Than clean the complete Exhaust

87568270-6BCC-4287-8EA8-2ECFCD817028.jpeg.642df09b733dff2bca1eb46124f93d5c.jpeg

and give it a nice black finish with High temp Color.

Gasket in - tightened the Bolts aaaand ......

right Testrun..

Again some Rocket scientific?

I do quick anotherone with few Picts of What i have done...

firstly the Parts

89667F3A-A22D-48E4-BE62-994894662C59.jpeg.d1fc6bf476ad60a11c5343da6a7f973c.jpeg

8 Amps high current low power Schottky diode i buyed in a bulk

and a electrolytic Capacitor 220 uF 400V out of an old Power Supply.

8E7A053D-BE0A-439E-84BC-82B17A2BED0B.jpeg.eda6d4624a19650630f2ce0f460f3848.jpeg

bent the diode in that Shape

03FACB7C-023D-4061-8346-0D62900E6DF7.jpeg.1b96db5e1e438c89c839a917673aafde.jpeg

and solder it on top of the Capacitor.

the Ring of the Diode is the Output ( left side) and connected to the Capacitor +

the other side is input and directly connected to Genny Coil hot Wire.

The Ground is passing thru and just connected to Capacitor Ground.

A79D1C39-F974-4864-AE8C-CE728D01C528.jpeg.0dde7dfdc92f51350bef94415b819d43.jpeg

heatshrinked with heatshrink tubes with glue content it turn out so.

again the right side is the Input, the left side the Output.

a very gently flickering in idle is still happen, because i do just a half way rectifying and both LED‘s draw each 27W.

to remove that completely i should use a 2200uF capacitor at least, but i‘m fine with that solution.

it is not more really a flicker it‘s a smothened flicker, not really strongly visible in eyesight.

The video show‘s it harder than it optically appears.

If the Coil is not grounded, you can also use a bridge rectifier and a capacitor after, that wil also reduce the flickering a bit more.

but i don‘t have one with 8A aside.

on the other hand, the bigger the capacitor is, the more the Voltage drops.

One step beyond...

my Pallet Truck until today again drops the Lift Cylindre, so another Task is needed.

But i have allready ordered the Complete Sealset, so i can it fix Today finally.

first complete dismount the whole Lifter and drain the reservoir again.

Than i put it In the Vice to rework the Main Lift Cylindre Gaskets.

and than i found the Antichrist for this issue...B4598CCA-093E-410D-9DE4-9CED493667F2.jpeg.79e4cc2e5cce1b0bdd99a4f8696ecf4c.jpeg

that Gasket must leaking... even if it was that less. So i decide to exchange all gaskets on the Whole lift Cylindre

even inner and outer the Shaft. While bleed it, if acts much faster and felt stiffer than ever before.

after remounting all, i drove it under my Pallet of Stones and lift it up.

keep it there for an hour, with no drop in result.

Ok, now i‘m sure i found the Problem finally.

keep the palette still on the lift until tomorrow, than i will see if al is fine now.

After changing all Seals on the Pallet Truck, i put the spare Engine on it and lift it a little to see if it now will keep the height.

Few Day‘s later i verified, if if the Hydraulics will now stay.

15A4E797-0C07-4BE8-A545-B4EB34245941.jpeg.96384d53871670a6e6efce8f65f64305.jpeg

yap it did.

Before i pickup my Rim‘s finally.

We talked before i like them to fit the Front Rims any Metal optics,

it doesn’t matter if it matches 100% perfectly the the silver Color of the front Rims but it should be very close.

they coated them in RAL 9006 blank Aluminum, but that turns out more like a Grey.

However, they be derusted and protected aaaaaand - they have new Tyres on it.

I choosed for 23x8.5x12.

They look pretty nice in Fit to the all in one Optics and yes, they have the nubsies still on the Tyres.😎

Ok, the Rim‘s are not bling ones, but the Colorscheme matches nicely.

After that, out i went and give the snowplow it’s first testrun.

After first meter i plowed, i go back in the Shed and changed also here the Plowangle to a little more over 30*

second testrun extends to 3 hours, what show‘s - yap Success.

Not yet but it is still in plan. actually i must get off to move the Blade.

Another restriction was, i’m running out of Welding Gas, that slow‘s down some things i like to do.

Because of a locally stronger lockdown, it is also not easy actual to get a new bottle of Welding Gas.

We are restricted where we can drive to, that reduces my options to reorganize.

Can give one of my Dealers my Bottle but get it back maybe earliest on Monday if all goes well.

we will See.
