Possible 1960 550 suburban?

Recommended Posts

chevrat68

Sorry it's been so long since I posted. I have been busy with my classic 1960 wood boat. I just acquired another horse that I believe is a 1960 suburban 550. But I can't locate any serial numbers or model numbers. I believe that the engine has been replaced due to it being a 6hp. The other problem is that the transmission was frozen and I need to find a breakdown of the trans and also the numbers for all the seals, bearings. Preferably napa numbers. I freed up everything but the bearings are totally gone. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Manuals - click on the picture

Go to the Transmission section and there is bearing and seal info pinned at the top few topics.

There are also several threads in the Transmission section on how to overhaul/ reassemble them.

Here's the 550 ... not too shabby! :handgestures-thumbupright: Solid seat pan could suggest a early '60

Belt guard one line indicates 1960.  Tech engine electric start so ya!  550!  I can’t see the levers but...  Great looking tractor! Love the rear tires!!!

Problem is that the forum software doesn't recognize heic as a valid image format.  Converting it is the best way to go for now.
