I use and recommend Cole Hersee.

Thanks for the recommendation!

Meanwhile, I’m going to find a shop that can spec some Timken sealed bearings for the front wheels.

(side story, on active duty I worked in the embassy program and one of the embassies I was assigned to was Berlin.  Ambassador Timken was assigned there while still serving as the CEO for his family company)

I like the idea of using sealed bearings, but these Chinese eBay things disintegrated in an hour and I’m not ok with it.  😂

Fabbed up some shorty clevis pins and drilled the quick hitch and levers.

This made ALL the difference.   Tilled a half acre of raw forest floor 6” under and only threw a belt, once, when I hit a stump on accident.

I guess just that little amount of security at the hitch removed the small amount of movement at the pulleys.

Even chewed up a rake that was below grade and spit it out like bubble gum and kept going.

Didn’t even notice it until the next pass.  lol.

Glad you got it all sorted out. Funny how something so small can make such a difference.

Lemme tell you how my ass feels after tilling for three days with no seat.

.....not recommended!

The seat parts should be back from the powdercoater on Monday.   Then straight to the vinyl guy to do the piping that I ordered.

Also, FWIW, these back tires are performing quite well.   Tilling, there were obviously a couple times I wish I had AG tires in the back, but only a couple times.   For the most part, they are providing a really good amount of traction.

Granted I don’t have anything to compare them to, but they’re doing really well!

If you had a set of chains around you could throw them on when needed.

Hey I noticed in your avatar pic the VW.  I have one, in a way.  @dells68 and his son Emory are into them as well.  Feel free to start a thread in the non-tractor discussion with details and story time :handgestures-thumbupright:

You’re opening a can of worms!

I don’t touch anything newer than 67, and 90% of them are pre-57.

This isn’t all of them either.  Lol.

I don’t know if this will help, but I picked up

the seat parts this AM, and the RAL 3003 color matches pretty well for a coded powder.

I’m pretty sure this will be the basis for the restoration when I do it.

The RAL code is an easy reference number to perfectly match paint to as well.

Here is a shot of the powder coated piece in an area that shows:

1.  The hood is Rustoleum Royal Red

2. The cowl has both shades of red.  You see the original shade under where the C-160 sticker was, as well as the pink-purple hue is has taken on over 40yrs outside.

I think this color looks perfect to be honest.

You have to check the model number to be positive but it looks like one that would. I don't know if there are larger model tractors that have similar appearing greater blades that don't fit a C Series.

That would mount to the rear axle and push the dirt from there. The other style of mid-mount grader blade mounts in the front and drags or pulls the dirt.

It’s a 79356, and I’m having a hard time finding the attachment interchange chart on this site.  Lol.

...and $400.   ?

seems steep, but it’s local, so at least I won’t have to drive 16 hours again for an attachment.  (Again)

It will fit if you move the rear bar ahead 5". I cut it out and left the the longer frame there. Drilled new holes and use a loose crossbar.
