It was included on newer models. My 314 is a 2000 model year. They are almost useless unless you’re driving on perfectly smooth paved roads, however.

That one is high because it gives me a better spray pattern. I built another that I use for chores. I modified one that my dad had that he never used. It’s lower at a more comfortable level for certain things.

  Found some suitable scrap box section, so started on a rear rack for the Sears.  

 

  Also mowed the green and verges. Timing was good. Just finished cleaning the tractor and deck when it started to drizzle.  Maybe get the green swept tomorrow afternoon.

Worked on mean green replaced the starter gear she's back up and mowing. Amazing how quiet a new starter gear can make one of these!

Haha great Minds think alike! Sad the main wheels on that are size of most stock front WH tires. But she's got a over sized engine to make up for that. She will pull wheelies mowing 🤣

My FIL’s shop sponsors quite a bit of my tools when they upgrade, have broken stuff, etc.  He asked today “how much for the bent tube for a 78 year old Vet’s hand rail?  Phfssshh.  NOTHING, of course!

 
 

Well, they say no good deed goes unpunished.  We prevail, with a clear mind.  I just purchased 4 3/8x1/4 pipe bushings for the FEL project, of which are wrong sizes for my needs.  A quick torx bit easy out procedure and I’m back up and running.  

 

I’d like to thank the man who fought for my freedom.  If a handrail is my hand shake, a broken fitting won’t stand a chance of getting in the way.

 Finished the rear rack for the Sears'Roper  today. Made from all scrap. Box section, angle iron and part of a old gate. Open ends of box section now plugged and rack painted. I'll refit it tomorrow.

 

 

The chalk marks were to remind me to cut the corners off. The whole thing is held with the hitch pin and a nut and bolt in either side. Five minutes to fit or remove.

 

 

The box was on the front of the Sears, but on really rough ground could catch. Two bolts and wing nuts hold it on. Won't catch now. I can get the chainsaw, plus fuel and oil cans etc.

What did we do today? Not much!  We got our second covid shot yesterday.   Unlike the first one, we both had reactions to the second shot - dizzy, unsettled stomach, hot flashes.  Not too bad, but enough that we slept late and vegged around for the rest of the day.

 

I did look at my projects in progress as I walked through the garage taking the dog out.....

Finished a deck project with my friend, picked up another job modifying some steel gates at the same house and was gifted a 5 foot trailer and two cast iron garden benches at another.

I was seriously considering ordering a pair of Deestone tri ribs if i did not find anything locally for the Sears garden trailer. However, I finally found a matching 4.80/4.00x8 wheel barrow rib locally.  Got the tire and a new tube installed on the wheel, and the wheel back on the trailer.  Even gave the zerks in the wheels a shot or three of grease.

 

Trailer is all set for spring work - hauling planter boxes from shed to front porch, mucking fall leaves out of the lake, hauling firewood, continuing spring clean up, and helping the raised bed  bed project.

 

Got to dig into the pressure washer now to find out why it is not drawing any soap, and if that B&S engine in new enough not to have an oil drain plug, as I think it needs an oil change.

 

Anybody out there have one of the newer B&S engines that B&S says that oil changes are not necessay? Comments? Opinions?
