Yeah, our older one was considered a flight risk for a long time. I remember when I first started training him on the GPS, the first one I got didn't have any correction ability, and I had to track him down in the dark, took over an hour. Then I got the better collars, but didn't have it set up right, and by the time I caught him, and got back to the car we had gone over four miles.
ebinmaine 72,451 #8178 Posted May 12 SUPER busy day for Trina.... like usual. She and her mom ripped out the back deck. Zoom in on this pic. Look under the doors. Notice that there's only enough space under that aluminum door frame to put one board. After we rebuilt this doorway and installed the deck a few years ago, occasionally on a hard rain we will get water inside the basement. Not a lot, but of course any is bad. We are lowering the deck surface several inches to create a splash back area against the house underneath the door. We will also be removing the whole doorway and resealing the whole surface all the way around. They hauled out several loads of that fill and made it into a path headed out the back yard. Also, we went and got some 🐄 🐮 💩
MainelyWheelhorse 1,476 #8179 Posted May 13 Today, it was nice enough that if I could think of something to do outside, that’s what I did. I started off with some weeding using the 312 for tractorish things. Then put the 308 back together and gave it the once over. I took off the rubber strip on the 312’s mowing deck as somehow I ripped it. I finished up the day by delivering a half a barrel/plant pot to my sister in law and dropped a bike off at my parents. It’s supposed to be nice tomorrow so possibly more outdoor activities.

ebinmaine 72,451 #8181 Posted May 15 Over the past few days Trina and her momma have been working on lowering the back deck several inches to prevent water from entering the basement apartment during heavier rains. Pictorial: 5

Are head nets standard issue this time of the year? On one of my spring bear hunts in Northern Quebec we had to air lift a young guy that failed to keep his net on and got bit so bad around his neck he had trouble breathing. Black flies can be nasty. My then wife & I decided to take a walk in the woods behind our house on an early June evening. After about 15 minutes we beat a hasty retreat. Those little suckers HURT, and then the bites itch for DAYS. It's hard for me to imagine how thick they were to have that effect on someone, and I definitely never want to find out.

ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY And.... totally dependent on where you are even in your own yard. Yesterday afternoon Trina went out the basement door to work on the deck. I was in a constant wind. They were in the shade and had no breeze. We have an absolute cloud of these nasty devil beings for 2 to 3 weeks annually. They use cool running water for life. We always called them "Teeth with wings". The old timers used to dump oil into the streams to kill the larva. Since that's no longer done and the water quality is better, the Black fly's have proliferated. Edited May 15 by Wayne0
SylvanLakeWH 28,356 #8188 Posted May 15 Mrs Sylvan and I honeymooned in Newfoundland and Labrador many moons ago... when we drive off the ferry from Saint Barbe, Newfoundland to Blanc-Sablon, Labrador we noticed the person inside the ferry terminal building had a head net on and full coverage clothing even though it was hot... red flag... I have never experienced such a massive number of black flies... the pristine cream colored beaches, overlooking the gorgeous Labrador Sea / North Atlantic, were literally black with flies hunkered down in the relentless wind... as we walked the beach admiring the beautiful iceberg drifting by, they would rise up in mass and then settle down immediately behind us, except for those coating our full coverage rain gear and head nets... Not Mrs Sylvan's fondest memory of our honeymoon... Compared to that experience I guess living with my tractor addiction is nothing... 1

adsm08 3,163 #8192 Posted May 18 Today was much busier than I like my Sundays. We ended up skipping church because the morning ended up too full of other time-sensitive obligations, so even if we had gone we'd have had to leave shortly after arriving. We got up and ran the dogs before it got too hot, then had to go clothes shopping for my SIL's wedding next weekend. Then we ran and hour out one way to get our daughter from my in-laws' house, then I ran back another 20 minutes past the house in the other direction to retrieve the boy from a weekend camp-out with his scout troop (at least he got some Bible learnin' in today), then I came home and got the engine mounts replaced in my car. The groaning noise is still there, but it's much better. Guess I'll try the tranny mount next.

MainelyWheelhorse 1,476 #8197 Posted May 19 (edited) @8ntruck as a kind of fun gift to @ebinmaine I designed it, and had my Mother printed it with her Sublimation printer. You can bake the design with a special heater onto a blank coffee mug. Edited May 19 by MainelyWheelhorse
MainelyWheelhorse 1,476 #8198 Posted May 19 In response to the thread, today I worked an extremely busy day at Hannaford. the rain didn’t slow the flood of orders. After I got home I just puttered on Tractor stuff and did some indoor things around the house.

I can't chew very much on my right hand side anyway so if I had a rotted or bad tooth on that side I probably would just have it removed. Not repaired. No root canals.... yet. Apparently I’m a freak, so the oral surgeon says. I had FIVE impacted wisdom teeth. I chose local anesthetic, and it should not have been an option, seeing what they did to me to get the teeth out in such a quick time! 1
Pullstart 66,656 #8200 Posted May 19 (edited) I’d call this a big accomplishment, I hit 2,000 subs on my YouTube channel! Notice the analytics to the channel. That’s 28 days revolving. I put it lots of time and effort, to make $66. It’s like hitting big at the casino or on scratch offs. “I won $500!” But nobody ever tells you the money spent. I can’t tell how many hours of filming and editing go into that sixty six dollar month! Edited May 19 by Pullstart
