Brought this home yesterday. 

Engine was thought to be stuck from sitting.

Sprayed WD40 in the cylinder last night.

Tried turning it with a wrench this morning. It's now free. I think there actually was an acorn wedged in the fan shroud jamming it up.

A day of harvest here today. Peppers & tomatoes were ready so it was time to get some thing done with them.

 

After a lot of prep work got a nice big pot of salsa.

 

Canned this up so that we can enjoy it through out the year.

 

After a hard afternoon of work, I was pretty hungry so I headed back out to the garden for some more peppers.

 

For supper it was poblano peppers stuffed with cream cheese, chicken, cheese, black beans,  tomato, onion & jalapeno. Topped with more cheese and cooked on the smoker.

Me n Trina and her mom spent a few hours today clearing more trees for the garden to get more sunlight.  

We felled about 15 decent sized trees and a BUNCH of smaller ones and saplings.

The tree cover was also very much blocking the garden plants we want to grow on purpose. 

 

Weeds don't matter... I have a very hard working automatic weed eliminator.  Trina.

Sold a plow to guy about 8 miles from me. Went over to look at his tractors and came home with a free seat and he got half his money back for the panzer frame.

Do those arms link to drum brakes on each hub? What sort of transmission did/does it have?

It’s VERY heavy for as small as it looks. Apparently its early/mid 50’s mopar rear axle narrowed and frame tubes welded to axle housing. Yes the brake pedals activate the brakes mechanically independent of each other. The transmission was actually a rubber disc that was turned by a disc on the crankshaft. Still learning about it and I haven’t had a chance to get into it. I got it for a project that may never happen but…… I got it. 👍

Ah! I see now that the frame is upside down in your truck. I wondered why the drive sprocket was so low!

The metal disk driving a rubber-edged wheel was used very successfully for many, many years on Snapper rear-engine riders and others. Versatile, easy to manufacture and repair, and it allows a wide "gear ratio" range and no-gear reverse. Its only real constraint is how much power it can transfer at the higher gear ratios (maybe 5 or 6 for pulling or pushing?), but for low ratios it's quite strong. Mowers and "lawn tractors" put most of their power into cutting or blowing anyway, not into moving.

The guy I got my seat and panzer frame from has 3-4 of these. Very cool machines.

 Spent the day up at the farm. Been making the grain silo rat proof. It's made out of a cardboard ply material. Must be more 40 - 50yr old now. 

  First off we fixed some sheet steel over a couple of holes the rats had made. The plate was pre-drilled, placed in position and I then drilled through those and through the silo side. My farmer friend then pushed the bolts through from the outside while I fitted and tightened the nuts.

  At one point I caught a movement from the corner of my eye. Something grey and furry. RAT!  Spun round holding the battery drill by the chuck end and prepared to give ratty a head ache. As I started to bring the drill down I managed to stay my hand. The rat turned out to be one of the young farm cats. The little blighter gave me a right start.

Finished up the “yard art” flower bed. Thanks again for the wheels @953 nut. Worked out perfectly. Now to get those plants growing.

Mowing duties for a couple old horses.

 

Used the 312H and 42"SD to open trails to the deer stand.

 

Then got the 417A with the 48" SD for the yard work.

 Helped SWMBO with some gardening this morning. This afternoon pressure washed the decking. You can now walked on it without going arse over T.I.T. Just finished mowing the lawn and verge outside the abode.
